ME AND MY CONSTITUION - FINAL EXIT WITH DIGNITY AND A NEW START - STRUCTURE ONCE AND FOR ALL - RETURN TO THE OLD AMERICA - HELP ME, AMERICAN PATRIOTS
My fellow Americans,
I don't know about you, my fellow Americans, but I'm extremely tired of seeing nothing but worldwide anxiety throughout my newspapers. I tried to tell you that after a domestic "terrorist" attack at Oklahoma City we did not shoot up North Dakota looking for Timothy McVeigh ringleaders. After the international terrorist attack-dramatic, wasn't it, but I don't think a letter to the editor would have done it--I think it was abundantly clear they were pretty ticked off. If a rock sailed through my living room window, I think I'd like to know who sailed it, maybe what I had done wrong. On an international level, maybe I'd like to know who my country ticked off, how many, how, what they wanted, what could be done to redress wrongs their countries and nationals felt, especially since we don't know who's out there-well, we say they're just "terrorists."
Well, we had it all. We knew the perpetrators of 9/11 were all from the Middle East and they're very ticked off, and that's ALL we needed to know. We don't need to paw through their money, do a big international American superpower thing-that's one of the things I know they hate--make new enemies We have enough of those already. We did not need to paw through cells of their money, track their movements, freeze their assets, blah, blah, find their friends, determine who they met in Prague, determine the Saddam connection.
The pilots couldn't speak after the buildings fell, but there was the simple message. Were there others out there like that in those countries with similar feelings, similar ticked-off citizens? Why? What can my country, my administration, by democratic government, my beautiful and perfect America do to protect its citizens from future attacks? What should have been done is Bush should have said: Looks like we have enemies, folks who don't like us much. The perpetrators cannot speak. If any of their compatriots, friends, neighbors, wish this country to address the same or other similar wrongs, we will listen, we will try harder because now it looks like we must. We should have sent State Department diplomat types galloping to the leaders of the countries of origin of those pilots to find out what was wrong. We could have established a much smaller office to handle 911 than a whole expensive War on Terrorism and a new Homeland Security Department. Well, we didn't, we decided we needed to get the RINGLEADER, some cat in a cave, then we'd never have to worry again. When in actuality we knew where they were coming from, what was ticking them off. How do we know we knew that? Because we had encyclopedic lists of "terrorist" from around the world whose funds we immediately could freeze and then they were supposed to go Poof! How foolish we American people have been, have become, to expect such a quick fix to a BIG PROBLEM.
The policy of the U.S. government in the Middle East for decades has been to treat it as an empire-do this or you get sanctions, you get bases on your soil, you don't get to poof off an atomic bomb because, I said you couldn't, you have too many "terrorist" groups in your countries-meaning your citizens kicking up dust in your own countries against America's treatment of your neighbors kids under sanctions you set up-blah, blah. You have plenty of people just ticked-off enough to buy a plane ticket and come here. The Middle East has many, many people living there. It is perhaps far too late, but that's where we should be looking DIPLOMATICALLY, State Department, one on one, nation by nation.
Now we have Afghanistan in turmoil and essentially depopulated, our country in turmoil, he whole world in turmoil because America Just Had To Do Something. How do you like what you've done? There's Rumsford, terror, terrorism, War on Terrorism, Antiterrorism Coalitions, Antiterrorism conferences, America stealth jets pulverizing Afghan kids, absolute chaos everywhere. Because American Just Had to Do Something, Rumsford is promising a Long War on foreign soil, our best Americans will be dying, planes looking in caves, civilians starving and freezing, our country on weekend high alerts, soldiers with M-16s in the airports. Does anybody else feel uncomfortable, see anything wrong with that?
I get the pleasure of sitting in a beautiful hotel in S.F.-after peering up at the sky to see if a "terrorist bad guy' in a highjacked plane is passing over, after I get the pleasure of seeing my country's jets paste Afghan kids-well, you had your chance, we asked you nice for bin Laden-doing irreparable damage to those emaciated people's lives. I can hardly keep from crying as I see what a mess my country-my America, my democracy, do to those lives.
Well, I'M doing something right now. I'm for sure not having George Bush's War on Terrorism interlaid on my civil rights as the FBI gets funding for email searches, etc.
I want you all to help me. Read the summary of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution provided, a mere 20 or so pages, examine those lovely basic human principles-Life, Liberty, Pursuit of Happiness; freedom of thought and expression, freedom of association, freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures, no arrest without warrant, no guilt by association (bin Laden), no being punished for act you did not commit (bin laden), more, more, and look at the morass we have out there. Our government, the current administration must begin to act responsibly in an international sense-be decent, act CONSTITIONALLY to fellow nation states (that might also include being courteous, but that's maybe asking too much). And if they don't on its own, we have to MAKE THEM because it's our buildings, our streets, our disrupted lives at stake, as WTC day taught us all, and WE'RE the ones picking through the rubble and burying the bodies.
I want you to note that America's War on Terrorism, definition of terrorist, terrorism, etc. are all constitutionally deficient. The reason they are having such trouble with it is that it is a "war" against a mental concept (such as "friendship" or "unhappiness" or "Communism"), not a concrete reality. You can have a War on Poverty or a War against Influenza Worldwide, because that's a project where you can see results, learn from your mistakes. But a "War on Terrorism"? This unclear concept is most frighteningly in that the Congress has effectively nullified the Constitution in the name of the "War on Terrorism." Already we see in a prison in an unnamed location 1,000 people incarcerated for indefinite periods, without access to counsel, in connection with 9/11.. The most egregious is a person incarcerated because "they" believe they had knowledge of the 9/11 attack before it happened!!!! That new Pentagon surveillance equipment must be extremely powerful. How did the arresting officers gain access to all they know about those people's lives? I can tell you for sure no court order was issued for wiretaps or listening bugs in their Cheerios. And more is planned, we've just seen the beginning.
THE WHOLE WAR ON TERRORISM AND ITS LEGISLATION IS CONSTITUTIONALLY INVALID. There may be more violent people out there, but we can handle it one on one. That's preferable to The Great Buzz Words--Terrorist, Terrorism. If they live in this country, they are entitled to their opinions. Once we stop overreacting and begin to act responsibly in the international world, the terrorist acts will decline, then stop.
If you read the Constitution summary, this particular prison furnishes examples of violations of right of association, right to freedom of thought and expression, guilt by association, illegal search and seizure, arrest without warrant, sentencing for a definite period for crimes actually committed, and there's potential for more gross official discretion in interpretation of those "terrorist" derivatives.
The whole concept of "War on Terrorism" is unconstitutional and therefore all planned usage's of funding for "weapons" in the War on Terrorist is also banned. This "War" would be never-ending since the one thing that each and every of America's "terrorists" have is an adverse attitude toward America-ranging from distaste to disgust, loathing, rage to hate against this big, blundering self-proclaimed "democracy" doing its "diplomacy by coercion" thing worldwide.
Now, my fellow Americans, I want you to read the Constitution summary paragraph above and think to apply such principles worldwide, which I believe would show it would not give our nation the right to clobber Afghanistan. What has my government done? We have tromped on our own principles-read the Constitution again-the constitutional rights of all those people in Afghanistan, a whole country, just because America had to do something.
I want you to get on the telephone, demand to know from whoever will listen to you WHY THE HELL we are in Afghanistan.
Just take it all back to WTC day, my American patriots. The criminal act is done, the criminals are punished, death penalty, the terrorist message should have been received, who can we retaliate against without antagonizing an uninvolved person? Get a definition from your dictionary-a "terrorist" act is a political statement, a statement (usually violent) from a person seeking redress for perceived wrongs among himself and others like him. That's the pilots on behalf of the Middle East in general. That was a terrorist act in the true sense-they're all those foreign countries patriots seeking redress against the great American superpower in their countries, in their lives, still in their lives as it seethes inward from Afghanistan. They truly are terrorists that day for America, patriots for all the poor ticked-off people in their countries. They were the equivalent of a Palestinian kid with a rock against a huge Israeli tank, making a political statement-which is, "See me, I matter, too." But we made "terrorists" into "Violent people wishing harm to pore old America, can't let it ever happen again, not on my soil, boo-hoo."
I want you to begin to apply intellectually Constitutional guarantees to every person in every nation state worldwide. That way you won't be sailing over a whole nation's boundaries thinking you have the right to demand a person from that soil, etc., pulverize their kids, create havoc throughout a whole area.
BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY I WANT YOU TO THINK OF A 'TERRORIST" AS AN INDIVIDUAL, A PERSON TICKED OFF AGAINST AMERICA-AND I CAN TELL YOU WHAT THEY ARE TICKED OFF AGAINST. IT'S THE GREAT BIG BULLYING, INSULTING WAY AMERICAN MOVES IN THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY, ABSOLUTELY VIOLATING EVERY ONE OF HER OWN CONSTITUTIONAL PRINCIPLES BOTH AT HOME AND ESPECIALLY AROAD. LOOK AT TIME MAGAINE AND SEE HOW EVERYWHERE SHE IS THERE IS CHAOS-building coalitions, doing antiterrorism conferences; I don't know what they are discussing. Yes, I do know. They are discussing little "cells" of "little people" who are ticked off at the way America acts and have the temerity to say so. So I'm substituting for the term "terrorist" in the way the U.S. and most Americans use it-which is wanting to do another boo-hoo against America--the term TOP, for Ticked-off Personwho Dislikes America and her policy of coercion. Pick up those dictionaries again, and you will see that the meaning of "terrorism" is "Using force in order to coerce." So, you see, our "War on Terrorism" is a war against ourselves, the great Terrorism expert, and that's why we're reduced to hunting anthrax spores in our mail--because We Can't Let Them Get Us Again.
Thank you --my fellow Americans.
